Finding Opportunity in Uncertainty
The past few months have been unprecedented. With the breakout of COVID-19, we have seen people falling ill and die, health care system overloaded, countries opting for lock down, stock market collapse, millions stranded and economy of countries looking grim.
With many of us working and staying at home, it came with its own downside and at some point, of time or the other, we had to go through our own demons of fear, emotional turmoil and anxiety.
No matter how grim and fearful the situation is, like all dark clouds, it has its silver lining. It gives us an opportunity to look at the brighter side of things and makes the best us of this uncertain time.
Personally, for me, when COVID-19 broke out and we started working from home, it was all fine. However, with extended stay at home, it impacted me emotionally and I had to go through my own share of fear and uncertainty. It took me sometime to get hold of it and now I am in a better shape.
During this time, I followed this 3R model — Resolve, Reflect, Resilience to cope up with this crisis and it is holding me in good stead.
Of course, this crisis has its dark side. What my experience has shown that if we follow the above model, it helps us to see the bright and positive side of it.
This gives us an opportunity to handle the crisis better and an opportunity to change our deeply rooted convictions and habits and focus on what really matters.
